Privacy Policy

Overview

Strexo is an external player for Stremio. This policy explains what information Strexo handles, why, and how. The short version: Strexo collects the minimum necessary to make the product work. No data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Data collection

Strexo does not collect personal data beyond what is required to operate the service. Specifically:

• Authentication: Strexo authenticates you directly with Stremio's servers using your Stremio credentials. Your password is not transmitted to or stored on Strexo infrastructure.
• Session tokens: The app may store a Stremio session token locally on your device so you stay signed in between sessions. This token lives on your device only.
• Playback progress: Strexo pushes watch progress back to your Stremio account, using the same API your Stremio client would use. This is the core purpose of the app.
• Optional integrations: If you connect Trakt or Simkl, Strexo authenticates with those services on your behalf using their official OAuth flows. Strexo does not store your Trakt or Simkl credentials.

Authentication handling

Strexo does not proxy your login credentials through its own servers. Sign-in requests go directly to the relevant service (Stremio, Trakt, or Simkl) from your device. All API calls are made locally from your device.

You can independently verify this behaviour by inspecting network traffic with a packet capture or proxy tool while signing in and using the app.

No selling or sharing of data

Strexo does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising, analytics resale, or any other commercial purpose. Data is only shared with the services you explicitly connect (Stremio, Trakt, Simkl) as part of delivering the features you enable.

Analytics

Strexo does not use third-party analytics platforms that track individual user behaviour or build advertising profiles. Basic operational telemetry may be used to detect crashes or service issues, but this does not include personally identifiable information.

Data retention

Because Strexo stores data only locally on your device, there is no personal data to delete on request beyond what is stored locally. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored session data.

Children

Strexo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the product evolves. Changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of Strexo after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
