Privacy Policy

Overview

StrexoPlayer is a neutral media player with optional API integrations for tracking, metadata, source, intro skip, and anime skip features. The short version: StrexoPlayer handles the minimum data needed to make the product work. Data is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Connected services

StrexoPlayer can integrate with Trakt, Simkl, AniList, the Stremio API, IntroDB, TheIntroDB, and AniSkip. These integrations are used only to provide the features you enable, such as progress, history, scrobbling, metadata, source handling, intro skip, and anime skip.

StrexoPlayer is independent and is not endorsed by Trakt, Simkl, AniList, Stremio, IntroDB, TheIntroDB, or AniSkip.

Data collection

StrexoPlayer does not collect personal data beyond what is required to operate the app and the integrations you choose. Specifically:

• Authentication: StrexoPlayer authenticates with connected services using the flow required by each provider. Where OAuth is available, provider OAuth is used.
• Session tokens: The app may store session tokens locally on your device so you stay signed in between sessions. These tokens are used only for the connected services you enable.
• Playback progress: StrexoPlayer may send progress, history, or scrobble updates to services such as Trakt, Simkl, AniList, or the Stremio API when those integrations are connected.
• Skip data: StrexoPlayer may request timing data from IntroDB, TheIntroDB, or AniSkip so skip controls can appear during playback when matching data is available.

Authentication handling

StrexoPlayer does not sell or share connected account credentials. Sign-in requests and API calls are made for the relevant connected service so StrexoPlayer can provide the feature you enabled. All connected accounts remain under your control.

You can independently verify this behaviour by inspecting network traffic with a packet capture or proxy tool while signing in and using the app.

No selling or advertising sharing

StrexoPlayer does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising, analytics resale, or other commercial advertising purposes. Data is shared with connected services only as needed to deliver the features you explicitly enable.

Analytics

StrexoPlayer does not use third-party analytics platforms that track individual user behaviour or build advertising profiles. Basic operational telemetry may be used to detect crashes or service issues, but this does not include personally identifiable information.

Data retention

Locally stored app data can include session state, preferences, cached metadata, and playback-related state. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from your device. Data already sent to a connected provider is controlled by that provider's own account settings and retention policies.

Children

StrexoPlayer is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the product evolves. Changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of StrexoPlayer after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
